You stay in control
You start recording
doctale does not capture a visit unless you choose to start a recording or upload audio.
You choose sharing
Summaries stay private unless you invite people to a care circle or share content yourself.
You can delete
You can delete content from the app and ask us for help at support@doctale.ai.
How visit data is handled
What is processed
When you record, doctale temporarily processes audio, transcripts, summaries, medications, appointment details, and next steps so the app can create a useful visit record.
Where it lives
Health content is designed to be delivered back to your device and invited care-circle devices. Temporary server-side processing copies are deleted after delivery.
How AI is used
Soniox helps with transcription. OpenAI and Google Gemini help create summaries and structured next steps. We require these services not to train their general-purpose models on your health content.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data or consumer health data. We do not run targeted advertising based on your health content.
Security practices
doctale uses encryption in transit, cloud security controls, limited-access operational practices, and deletion-oriented processing for visit content. We keep only the account, subscription, support, security, and operational records needed to run the service unless a longer period is required by law.
Anonymous usage analytics from PostHog help us understand product performance without connecting app activity to an identified user profile.

A note on HIPAA
doctale is designed as a patient-side consumer app that people use independently for their own purposes. doctale is not currently a HIPAA covered entity or business associate and does not sign BAAs with healthcare providers.
Even so, health information is sensitive. Our standard is to treat it carefully, minimize what we keep, and give you control over sharing.
